Mike Hillmer is a seasoned media and content creator with over 20 years of experience leading post-production strategy across film, television, and digital media. Based in Vancouver, BC and currently contributing to productions with WildBrain, Mike oversees editorial delivery, delivery standards, and creative alignment across multi-platform distribution.
As a post-production leader, Mike builds and manages scalable pipelines that connect creative vision with operational precision. He aligns editors, producers, motion designers, and marketing stakeholders to ensure cohesive brand storytelling from offline edit through final delivery. His experience spans broadcast television, streaming platforms, branded campaigns, and digital-first content — giving him a strategic understanding of how content performs across markets.
Mike’s career began in the sales and distribution of nonlinear editing systems and professional video equipment, where he trained industry professionals on Sony, Canon, Panasonic, and JVC camera platforms and designed PC- and Mac-based post-production systems. This technical foundation informs his strength in systems integration, workflow optimization, and infrastructure planning.
Proficient across nonlinear editing platforms including DaVinci Resolve, and highly skilled in print and graphic media applications such as Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop, Mike operates fluently across motion, stills, and integrated brand assets. He brings leading proficiency in incorporating emerging AI tools into traditional post-production environments — enhancing efficiency, creative iteration, metadata workflows, and multi-platform output without compromising craft.
With hands-on experience across production roles — from technical direction and lighting to VTR operations and set construction — Mike leads with a comprehensive understanding of the full production lifecycle.
